Dany Melkonowicki enrolled as a Research Fellow in the Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry in 2023. In 2020 he graduated with his Master's in Holocaust Studies at the University of Haifa with distinction. He wrote his thesis on visual antisemitic propaganda in West Ukraine during the Nazi occupation under the supervision of Professor Per Anders Rudling of Lund University. For his academic achievements, Dany was rewarded an Excellence Scholarship by the Israeli Council for Higher Education and the Foundation for the Preservation of Polish-Jewry Heritage. In June 2021, he participated in a conference held at the Wiesenthal Center in Wien, where he lectured about the anti-fascist aesthetics in the cinema and television works of Guillermo del Toro. Between 2020-2022 he worked as a researcher at the Reference and Information Department of the Archive Division of Yad Vashem. Currently, he is writing his dissertation under the supervision of Professor Amos Goldberg of the Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry and Doctor Kobi Kabalek of Pennsylvania State University. His research field focuses on the language of Nazi antisemitism and its visual and rhetorical impacts on Germans during the Third Reich and afterward.
